Inputs

Each label has a different rule. Compounded semaglutide has no label; ask the prescriber which rule they want you to follow.

Your usual day and time.

Pre-set to the current time; change it to plan ahead.

The Wegovy label has a separate rule once 2 or more doses in a row are missed.

What the label says

Enter when the dose was due. The label rule for your product is applied to the time elapsed.

Formulashown in full, nothing hidden
days since = (now - missed dose time) / 24 h
next scheduled = missed dose time + 7 days (weekly injections)
hours to next = (next scheduled - now) / 1 h
Ozempic : days since <= 5 -> take now, else skip
Wegovy injection : hours to next > 48 -> take now, else skip; 2+ consecutive missed -> prescriber decides (resume or re-escalate)
Tablets : always skip; next tablet the following day

The Wegovy rule is written against the next scheduled dose, the Ozempic rule against the missed one. That is why the same 5-day gap can give different answers for the two products.

Assumptions, checked September 4, 2026

  • Ozempic label (revised 1/2025): take a missed dose as soon as possible within 5 days after the missed dose; if more than 5 days have passed, skip it and take the next dose on the regular day.
  • Wegovy injection label (revised 6/2026): if the next scheduled dose is more than 2 days (48 hours) away, take the missed dose as soon as possible; if less than 2 days away, skip it. After 2 or more consecutive missed doses, resume as scheduled or, if needed, reinitiate with the escalation schedule.
  • Wegovy, Rybelsus and Ozempic tablet labels: skip the missed dose and take the next dose the following day.
  • Times are compared in your device's local time. Compounded semaglutide has no label; the prescriber's instruction governs.
